Soluble Powder Electrolyte for Stress and Dehydration

Product Description

Bounce Back is a soluble powder electrolyte supplement for use during stress or dehydration across nine animal species, including calves, foals, goat kids, lambs, llamas, alpacas, fawns, elk calves, and baby pigs. The dextrose base provides rapid energy, and glycine is included specifically to support electrolyte absorption. The powder mixes into warm water and turns light blue when properly dissolved.

Benefits

  • Supports Nine Species: One product covers calves, foals, goat kids, lambs, llamas, alpacas, fawns, elk calves, and baby pigs, making it practical for farms and operations with multiple species.
  • Glycine for Electrolyte Absorption: Glycine is included at a minimum of 3% specifically to enhance how effectively the body absorbs the electrolytes delivered by each dose.
  • Dextrose for Rapid Energy: Dextrose at a minimum of 50% provides a readily available energy source to animals that are depleted from stress, illness, transport, or dehydration.
  • Mixes Easily in Warm Water: The instantized powder dissolves fully in warm water with stirring, turning light blue when properly mixed.
  • Safe for All Ages: Suitable for both young and adult animals across all listed species, so a single product covers animals at every stage from newborns to adults during a dehydration event.

Dosage and Administration Instructions

  • Always mix into warm water: Add the powder to water and stir to dissolve completely.
  • Never mix into milk or milk replacer: This supplement must not be added to milk or milk replacer; always administer as a separate solution.
  • Do not discontinue milk replacer: Continue all regular milk replacer feedings as normal; Bounce Back is administered in addition to, not instead of, normal milk replacer feeding schedules.
  • Discard unused solution within 24 hours: Any prepared solution that has not been consumed within 24 hours must be discarded.
  • Check color when mixing: When properly dissolved at the correct ratio, the solution should appear light blue; a different color or cloudiness may indicate incorrect mixing.

Additional Information

Precautions

  • Not for human consumption: This product is an animal supplement and is not intended for human use; keep out of reach of children.
  • Male elk and deer castration note: Male elk and deer that are bottle-fed should be castrated to help prevent dangerous aggressive behavior; this is a species-specific management consideration.
  • Do not feed spoiled product: Do not use any product that appears spoiled, moldy, rodent or insect-infested, or abnormal in appearance or odor; spoiled product may cause illness or death.
  • Consult with your vet: Talk to your vet before starting, adjusting, or stopping use, particularly for animals with severe dehydration or ongoing illness.

Storage Information

  • Tightly closed container: Store the dry powder in a tightly closed container to avoid moisture from entering and clumping the powder between uses.
  • Cool and dry location: Keep in a cool, dry place away from heat sources, insects, and rodents that could contaminate the supplement.
  • Away from insects and rodents: The feed warning on the label specifically notes storage away from insects and rodents; an infested product must not be fed to animals.
  • Discard reconstituted solution after 24 hours: Prepared solution left beyond 24 hours must be discarded.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q1: What species can this supplement be used for?

Ans: It is labeled for nine species: calves and cattle, foals and horses, goat kids and mature goats, lambs and sheep, llamas, alpacas and crias, fawns, elk calves, and baby and adult pigs. Both young and adult animals across all these species can receive the supplement during stress or dehydration events.

Q2: What is the difference between the 4 oz and 4 lb sizes?

Ans: The 4 oz packet is a single pre-measured dose, convenient for occasional or on-the-spot use with one animal. The 4 lb container is a bulk supply that comes with an enclosed measuring scoop holding approximately 1 oz of powder, suited to larger herds or farms that use the supplement regularly across multiple animals.

Q3: Why does the solution turn light blue when mixed?

Ans: Blue 1 is listed as an ingredient in the formula. When the powder is properly dissolved into the correct volume of warm water, the solution turns light blue. This color variation serves as a visual indicator that the powder has been mixed at the right concentration and has dissolved fully.

Q4: Can this be mixed into milk or milk replacer?

Ans: No. It is specifically instructed not to mix this supplement into milk or milk replacer. It must be prepared as a separate water-based solution and given alongside regular milk replacer feedings, not as a replacement for or addition to the milk replacer itself.

Q5: How long can the prepared solution be stored?

Ans: Any reconstituted solution must be discarded after 24 hours. Do not prepare more than what can be used within that window and do not store leftover solution for the next feeding. Only mix what each animal will consume within a single 24-hour period.

Q6: What does glycine do in this formula?

Ans: Glycine is an amino acid included at a minimum of 3% specifically to support electrolyte absorption. It works alongside sodium and dextrose to improve how efficiently the intestinal wall takes up electrolytes and fluids, which is why glycine-based oral rehydration formulas are considered more effective than simple salt and sugar solutions.

Q7: Can this be given to calves that are still on milk replacer?

Ans: Yes. The directions specify that Bounce Back should be given between regular milk replacer feedings, not instead of them. Regular milk replacer feedings should continue on their normal schedule. The electrolyte solution is administered separately as a supplemental hydration support during the recovery period.
